A 46-year-old Texas man will spend the rest of his days behind bars after fatally stabbing his mother 10 times and then going on the run.

Jeffrey Bennett Flowers was sentenced to life in prison for murdering his 72-year-old mother Jeanette Flowers in 2021 at their home in Rowlett, a Dallas suburb, according to prosecutors .

Cops in Rowlett found the victim's body on July 4, 2021, while conducting a welfare check. She had been stabbed around 10 times with an unknown object. There were efforts made to clean up the scene.
