CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Two people are dead after a house fire on E 52nd Street, just south of Fleet Avenue.
The Cleveland Fire Department says they responded to the scene just after midnight on Sunday.
When they arrived, they saw heavy smoke and flames coming from the first floor.
“The fire was on the first floor extending out to the porch,” said Lieutenant Mike Norman with the Cleveland Fire Department.
Norman says one firefighter made it to the second-floor bedroom; they found a man and a woman inside.
“They were able to bring them down. They were transported by Cleveland EMS to Metro Hospital,: said Norman.
Sadly, the couple later died.
“There wasn’t a lot of fire in the room, in the bedroom, but there was a lot of heat and smoke. So we had a tragic morning this morning on East
