A 54-year-old Niagara, Wis., man was killed in motorcycle crash Saturday on Wishman Road about one-fourth mile east of U.S. 141 in town of Niagara, said Marinette County Sheriff Randy Miller.

Christopher Recla was northbound on Wishman Road when he lost control and crashed at about 5:49 p.m., the sheriff said today in a news release. Recla, who was not wearing a helmet, sustained fatal injuries.

Failure to negotiate a corner and failure to maintain control appear to have been factors in the crash that remains under investigation by the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office and Marinette County Medical Examiner’s Office, Miller said.

Assisting were the Niagara Fire Department, Niagara Rescue and Town and Country Towing.
