MINNEAPOLIS — The first half couldn't have gone much better for cornerback Isaiah Rodgers, forcing three turnovers and taking two of them for touchdowns to help the Minnesota Vikings take a commanding 34-3 lead into halftime.
He's the first player in Vikings history to score two defensive touchdowns in a single game.
Rodgers, who was signed as a free agent in the offseason, took an interception 87 yards for a touchdown late in the first quarter after safety Harrison Smith, who is playing in his first game this season, got a hand on the pass. It was the longest return for a Vikings defender since Xavier Rhodes returned an interception 100 yards in 2016, according to Vikings Communications.
Rodgers then punched a ball loose late in the second quarter, scooped it up and ran 66 yards down
