New Delhi: Opener Abhishek Sharma struck a brilliant half-century and forged a 105-run partnership with Shubman Gill as India defeated Pakistan by six wickets in their Asia Cup Super 4s match at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday, September 21.
Chasing a 172-run target, Abhishek Sharma smashed 74 runs off 39 balls, including six boundaries and five maximums, as India chased down the target in 18.5 overs.
The Men in Blue reached the 100-run mark in just 8.4 overs. But there was a little slump when the two openers departed, and skipper Suryakumar Yadav was dismissed for a duck, but Tilak Varma (30*) and Hardik Pandya (7*) guided the team to victory.
Earlier, Hardik Pandya dismissed Fakhar Zaman on 15 runs after Suryakumar Yadav elected to bowl first. After his dismissal, Ayub
