SALT LAKE CITY – After improving to 3-0 with a win over East Carolina, BYU football entered the week five AP Top 25 Poll at No. 25, which was released on Sunday.

It is the first time the Cougars have cracked the AP Poll this season.

Multiple Cougars players stepped up in BYU’s final non-conference contest of the season.

Quarterback Bear Bachmeier completed 18 of 25 pass attempts for 246 yards and a touchdown and running back LJ Martin took 14 carries for 101 yards and a score on the ground. On the other end, Evan Johnson snagged two interceptions.

Simultaneously, the Utah Utes fell from No. 16 to unranked after their loss to Texas Tech. The Red Raiders jumped five spots for their win
