Police search for suspect after 42-year-old man fatally shot at Port Arthur home

PORT ARTHUR, Texas — Police are searching for a suspect after a 42-year-old Port Arthur man was fatally shot early Sunday morning in Port Arthur.

The deadly shooting happened around 2:15 a.m. in the 3000 block of Ninth Street, according to Port Arthur Police Department Chief Tim Duriso.

On Monday morning, the deceased man was identified as Joseph Hernandez Trice, 42, 0f Port Arthur, according to Jefferson County Precinct Seven Justice of the Peace Brad Burnett.

When officers arrived, they found Trice inside the home.

Police are interviewing witnesses and looking for a suspect in the fatal shooting. Another person was at the home, though Chief Duriso said he's not sure who called police.

That person is also being interviewed and questioned by investigators.
