CHICAGO (WGN) — An eight-year-old girl is recovering after being shot in the finger inside a Far South Side home on Sunday afternoon, according to Chicago police.

The incident happened just before 2 p.m. in the 1400 block of West 83rd Street in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood.

Police say the child sustained a gunshot wound to her left index finger. She was taken to Christ Hospital, where she was listed in good condition.

No arrests have been made, and Area Two detectives are investigating.
