SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - The annual Sioux Falls Marathon made its return Sunday after extreme heat canceled the 2024 edition. Sanford Health is using the race to take on a first-of-its-kind study.
Fifteen years ago, a sea of marathoners would have been the last place Sara Ramirez would have expected herself to be.
“My sister and I used to joke before being moms,” Ramirez said with a grin. “We thought the idea of running a marathon was crazy and then [when we had kids] we thought four hours by ourselves sounded pretty good, so [we] made the switch.”
Now, her third time running the Sioux Falls Marathon was her seventh marathon overall. Her focus is on finding ways to improve and stay healthy. Sanford is providing the opportunity to learn more about their running in a study th
