MILWAUKEE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Brewers are NL Central Champions for the third consecutive season.

Milwaukee clinches the division title after a Chicago Cubs loss in Cincinatti this afternoon.

The Brewers won the division crown despite losing 5-1 to the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday.

This marks the seventh time in the past eight seasons the Brewers will move onto the postseason for a chance at a World Series title. And the third straight season the Brewers have won the divisional championship.

Milwaukee is also looking to wrap up the regular season number one seed, as they are currently 2.5 games up on the Philadelphia Phillies for the best record in the National League.

If the Brewers secure that top seed, they will have home field advantage throughout the entirety
