MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A 13-year-old boy who was the subject of a citywide alert Saturday night is now facing criminal charges following an altercation with his mother, according to the Memphis Police Department.
At 5:20 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to a witness’s call for help at University Gardens Manor, an apartment complex located in Memphis’ Vollintine-Evergreen neighborhood.
There, officers met with a mother who told them that her 13-year-old son ran away after assaulting her in such a way that she thought she might die, according to the police report.
“The victim was forced to defend herself or be seriously injured or potentially killed,” the report reads.
MPD says the mom suffered “deep bruises,” a laceration to her shoulder, said she felt dizzy and complained of a headach
