LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) - Quiet weather returns overnight as temperatures drop into the upper 60s and lower 70s. A shower or two will be possible along the coast after midnight and through early morning. Monday will see sunshine mix with cloud cover through early afternoon allowing temperatures to climb to around 90. Storms develop during the afternoon once again to provide heat relief.

In the tropics, Gabrielle has strengthened into a hurricane and looks to continue strengthening over the next two days as it safely passes east of Bermuda. Gabrielle could briefly become a major hurricane by Tuesday before it starts to weaken and head east, eventually bringing impacts to the Azores by the end of the week.
