LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — A boy was struck and killed while riding an electric scooter Sunday, police said.

The incident occurred just before 11 a.m. near Tully Avenue and Hidden Desert Way in east Las Vegas. Police said a van traveling west struck a 12-year-old boy on an electric scooter that had crossed into its path. The boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

The van’s driver remained at the scene and completed standardized field sobriety tests, although investigators did not suspect impairment.

The boy’s death was the 119th traffic-related fatality of 2025 within the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction. The crash remains under investigation.
