Editor:

This is the season when there’s too much! Too much zucchini, pumpkins, potatoes, carrots or onions — and none of us want to see our produce, so carefully tended, go to waste.

There’s an answer. Bring your fresh produce to Harvest 4 Hunger. It’s easy to drop it off, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday, near the Pitkin County Health and Human Services building. Walk up the ramp between that building at 405 Castle Creek Road and the old Ambulance Barn (turn left at the Aspen Valley Hospital entrance). Put items to be refrigerated in the fridge and others in the produce section. Volunteers come in regularly to organize.

You’ll feel good about your contribution and the many families who need fresh produce will send their heartfelt thanks.
