The whole cast of “ Dawson’s Creek ” is gathering in New York Monday for a script reading in support of series star James Van Der Beek , who has cancer .

Except now one person won’t be there:

Van Der Beek — Dawson Leery himself.

The actor said Sunday that he would be missing the upcoming “Dawson’s Creek” reunion at Broadway’s Richard Rodgers Theatre because he has been suffering from stomach viruses.

Van Der Beek announced last year that he was in treatment for colorectal cancer .

His replacement at the “Dawson’s Creek” reunion is someone intimately familiar with the same theater:
