SALEM Ore. (KPTV) - Four young men died and two others were hospitalized after a two-car crash in northeast Salem on Saturday evening, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

At about 8 p.m., officers responded to the crash on Cordon Road between Sunnyview Road Northeast and Carolina Avenue Northeast.

According to deputies, a Volkswagen Jetta was heading north and carrying six young men in their late teens and early 20s.

The crash happened when the Jetta crossed into the southbound lane and crashed into a Buick Enclave.

Four passengers riding in the back of the Jetta died at the scene. The driver, identified as 23-year-old Saul Hernandez-Roblero of Salem, and his front passenger were both rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.
