When the Giants score 4 runs in the first inning, they somehow lose every time

The San Francisco Giants had dreams of the NL Wild Card and a spot in the postseason.

Frankly, when they made the splash trade for Rafael Devers, it seems hard to believe that they wouldn't have found their way to the playoffs by the end of the season.

But the Giants are on the outside looking in with only a week left in the MLB regular season, and there's a really obvious reason.

Three times in the last nine days, the Giants have scored four runs in the first inning and gone on to lose.

That just can't happen.
