BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) -- Sunday marks one year since the mass shooting that occurred outside Hush Lounge in Five Points South, a night that left a lasting mark on the community. What was once a busy nightlife district is now quieter, carrying the weight of a painful memory for residents and families alike.

According to the Birmingham Police Department, the shooting killed four people and injured 17 others. The victims killed in the shooting included 21-year-old Anitra Holloman, 27-year-old Tahj Booker, 27-year-old Carlos McCain and 26-year-old Roderick Lynn Patterson.
