ONTONAGON — The North Dickinson Nordics came into Friday’s game at Ontonagon with a 3-0 record and ranked No. 3 in the latest UPPSA 8-player poll.

Nevertheless, the host Gladiators didn’t get the message and came out and put 22 points on the Nordics in the opening quarter. But coach Mike Christian’s squad rebounded with 24 of their own in the second period en route to a wild 62-42 victory.

“Ontonagon came out and punched us in the face,” Christian said after the game. “They had a great game plan and executed it well. I am very proud of our boys for taking Ontonagon’s best shot and coming back stronger to play an amazing game.”

Brady Jungwirth threw for four touchdowns, ran for one and contributed to seven 2-point conversions to lead the North Dickinson offense.
