Scaffolder have been crowned Britain’s “toughest” tradesmen in a nationwide poll. Nearly a fifth of tradesfolk - some 15% - backed ‘scaffys’ as the hardiest grafters on UK sites.
Roofers and stonemasons came joint second with 11% of votes respectively from a survey of 500 tradesmen and women. Bricklayers and electricians round off the top five toughest tradies - with each profession winning 10% of the vote.
But fitters of kitchens, windows, carpets and tiles were named as the lest tough by their fellow tradesmen and women.
