The after-school program at Wintersville Methodist Church saw a week blessed with receiving a $500 donation of supplies for its upcoming program this fall. The donation from the William Penn Association, a life insurance and annuities fraternal benefit society, has members who come together to make a difference in their communities through projects that connect youth and adults, including the Join Hands Day. This event gives fraternal benefit societies the opportunity to reach out to people they do not know and connect generations, developing new relationships — serving to reinforce the benefits of fraternalism in the 21st century through volunteer-led initiatives.
