Chaos has erupted on one of Yorkshire's busiest motorways after a serious crash shut down the M62 – plunging Monday morning commuters into gridlock. It's believed a car overturned. ‌

Traffic is crawling for two miles on the eastbound carriageway in West Yorkshire, with police issuing a stark warning for drivers to "stay away". The smash was reported just before 2.40am between junction 32 (Pontefract/Castleford) and junction 32A (A1M) – and emergency crews raced to the scene. ‌
