Barcelona boss Hansi Flick has opened up on his decision to drop Manchester United loanee Marcus Rashford for their 3-0 win over Getafe on Sunday evening.

Rashford moved to the Catalan club on a season-long loan this summer, with Barcelona covering his full wages and holding an option to buy United's academy graduate for £26million. The forward has picked up some form in recent weeks - providing an assist against Valencia before scoring a brace against Newcastle United in the Champions League .

But the 27-year-old was left out of Barca's starting line-up in La Liga over the weekend. Reports in The Athletic claim that Rashford was named on the bench after arriving late to training on the morning of the game.
