Columnist Beth Brandon attains the lofty goal of great comedians: She embeds truth in laughter (Sept. 18, “Reflecting on the Best of Summer’s Worst,” Aspen Daily News).
Her reflection is a hilarious depiction of Aspen tourists engaged in atrocious behavior. Yes, we recognize the pushy dude who deems himself entitled to be first off the plane; the five line dancers monopolizing the sidewalk; the “barf emoji” recipient paddling upstream with her pooch; the reckless sidewalk and singletrack e-bikers, and the pedestrians so glued to cell phones that they imperil passersby along with their own neonates.
