Good Morning Britain hosts Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid , along with Richard Arnold, paid their respects to the late John Stapleton. ‌

The esteemed broadcaster passed away at the age of 79 on Sunday . ‌

His agent announced in a statement: "John had Parkinson's disease, which was complicated by pneumonia. ‌

"His son Nick and daughter-in-law Lisa have been constantly at his side, and John died peacefully in hospital this morning ."

Stapleton had an illustrious career that spanned over half a century, contributing to programmes such as Daybreak, GMTV,
