Health Minister Mark Butler has asked Australian authorities for quick advice on studies that have linked paracetamol use in pregnancy to autism, after the Trump administration said it was on the cusp of revealing “historic progress” that would address the neurodevelopmental condition.

US President Donald Trump foreshadowed a major announcement on Monday (Sunday, US time), telling a memorial service for conservative activist Charlie Kirk that: “Tomorrow we’re going to have one of the biggest announcements, medically, in the history of our country ...
