In Stowe, early birds are checked in to hotels and taking to the mountains for leaf peeping.

“It’s turning every day. Every day, we’re seeing more and more colors. It started out pretty green last week, but now every tree is turning,” said Amber Toole of Indiana.
Stowe was bustling with tourists who traveled from around the country for a glimpse of the early foliage.
