BEIJING (Reuters) -A delegation of U.S. lawmakers on Monday met with Chinese Defence Minister Dong Jun in Beijing, according to a pool report, in a rare congressional visit aimed at bolstering exchanges including military-to-military communication.

The bipartisan delegation was led by Democratic U.S. Representative Adam Smith. He is the current top Democrat, the former chair, on the House Armed Services Committee, which oversees the U.S. Defense Department and armed forces.
