GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Authorities in Georgetown County are hoping to locate a swimmer who went missing Sunday evening.
The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office said its marine units began the search for 28/year-old Nicholas Thomas Hold around 8:40 p.m. Sunday in the river area near Sandy Island.
Officials said Hold was last seen swimming in a lagoon near the island.
There was no update on the search as of 5 a.m. Monday; however, officials with the sheriff’s office asked that anyone with information call 843-546-5102.
The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources and Midway Fire Rescue assisted in the search.
