The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department on Sunday was investigating a fatal shooting in uptown Charlotte, the second in three days.

CMPD did not immediately release the victim’s name or information about a suspect.

The shooting happened at about 12:42 a.m. in the 200 block of N. Caldwell Street. WCNC, quoting a police source, said the incident started as a confrontation between two groups at the Brooklyn Nightclub and Lounge.

Meanwhile, CMPD released the name of a man killed on Thursday and announced an arrest in the case.

The authorities said Jahday Humphrey, 20, died after he was shot outside Latta Arcade on Brevard Court. The police arrested Jarius Tamaal Jackson, 33, on suspicion of murder.
