Dee Salmin – Heart of glass

A crude social media remark about Collingwood player Darcy Moore’s girlfriend, Triple J radio presenter Dee Salmin – “Darcy has money, fame and elite football skills, yet traded his gonads to a feminist witch” – became the inspiration for an upcycled look.

“It makes me look like a sexy sea witch,” Salmin says. “I’m leaning into the comments.”

The gown is made from pieces of recycled sea glass, collected along the Flinders foreshore on the Mornington Peninsula. It took 800 hours for the staff at new label Atalie Studios to assemble the pieces. Darcy’s brooch co-ordinated with the upcycled
