MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Jury selection is set to begin on Monday morning in the trial of a man accused of shooting his girlfriend to death and then throwing their newborn baby into the Mississippi River nearly three years ago.
Brandon Isabelle is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse and neglect, and aggravated kidnapping. He was indicted in the murders of Danielle Hoyle and their two-day-old baby, Kennedy Hoyle.
Isabelle was supposed to stand trial back in June, but it was pushed back to this week.
Back in August, during a status conference, Isabelle was captured on video telling investigators how he killed his girlfriend and threw the baby into the river because he did not want the child. That confession video was played at the time in court.
