CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- One person is hospitalized after a shooting overnight in the heart of Uptown Charlotte, according to the Mecklenburg EMS Agency (Medic).

The shooting was first reported around 12:40 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 22, on West Trade Street near North Tryon Street.

Medic says one person was taken to the Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

It is unclear what led up to the shooting or if anyone has been arrested. This is the third shooting in Uptown in four days.

On Thursday afternoon, a fight near Romare Bearden Park led to one man being shot and killed on Brevard Court. After midnight on Sunday, another person was killed in a shooting at the Brooklyn Nightclub and Lounge on North Caldwell Street.
