A welcomed pattern change is here as autumn arrives with scattered rain in the Pittsburgh area through the week. Rain will be beneficial to ease the drought conditions across western Pennsylvania.

Monday afternoon will be quiet with peeks of sunshine. Fall officially begins at 2:19 p.m.
It is an Impact Day with a chance for thunderstorms to develop during the evening commute. Some of those storms could be strong with gusty winds and heavy downpours. The timing looks to be as early as 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
A lot of the heavier rain and thunder will fizzle closer to midnight. Steady rain will continue flowing into the Pittsburgh area through early Tuesday.
