BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WNKY) — The Capitol Theatre lit up with shiny sequins, wigs, and air guitars Saturday night, but the annual Lip Sync Battle was about much more than the music. The event raises funds for Megan’s Mobile Grocery, a nonprofit that delivers fresh food to neighborhoods across Bowling Green.
“It’s fun, it’s exciting, but it’s also fun with a purpose,” said Jason Brown, a board member for Megan’s Mobile Grocery. “It helps fund the grocery, which means families in food deserts right here in Bowling Green get access to groceries they might not otherwise have. And to me, that’s just huge.”
The grocery-on-wheels was the vision of founder Megan Davidson, who died in 2019. Her idea continues to roll on in the form of a fully stocked van that brings produce and essentials directly
