Calgary police are investigating after a man was shot outside a block of businesses in the southwest Sunday.
Investigators say it happened just before 5:30 p.m. near 53 Avenue and Macleod Trail SW.
The shooting is believed to be targeted, police add, and there is no risk to the public.
“A lot of these shootings are targeted, it just becomes more concerning when they’re happening in a very public space,” said Staff Sgt. Scott Campbell. “That’s a big concern, we’re certainly taking this seriously and will be having lots of investigators involved in tracking down who was responsible for this.”
Police have yet to make any arrests in the incident or identify a suspect.
