The Montana Historical Society is finalizing the main gallery of the Montana Heritage Center in preparation for its grand opening Dec. 2.

The Montana Homeland Gallery will be the largest of the museum’s three galleries, sprawling 16,000 square feet of newly built space to showcase artistic pieces and artifacts that tell the story of Montana from prehistoric times to the present.

“We want to represent the idea that everybody who has come into this building is part of Montana's story," Aaron Genton, Montana Historical Society’s curator of exhibits, said in a news release.

The gallery will present historic milestones of the state through individual people and their personal stories.
