M25 closed: Motorway shut to traffic between Junction 8 and 9 after vehicle fire

Traffic has slowed to a halt on the M25 in Surrey due to a vehicle fire.

There are delays anti-clockwise between J9 Leatherhead and Junction 8 near Reigate, National Highways: South-East said on X.

Surrey Fire & Rescue Service is at the scene alongside National Highways Traffic officers.

Drivers have been advised to allow extra journey timeand consider re-routing their journeys if affected.

A diversion is in place with hollow square diversions symbol along the following route: • Exit the M25 anti-clockwise at J10 • Join the A3 northbound towards London • At Tolworth, exit the A3 and join A240 Tolworth Interchange • Take the 3rd exit at the roundabout and join the A240 towards Reigate • Continue onto the A24 at Organ Junction • At the A24 Ewell bypass roundabout, take the 1s
