A woman was arrested on dozens of fraud charges for allegedly exploiting the elderly while working as an accounting contractor in Lauderhill.
Ammie Padilla, 53, was an "accountant subcontracted by Elder Solutions," prosecutors said at her bond court hearing on Saturday, where she allegedly managed the victims' funds and even held power of attorney for one of them.
Padilla faces 42 charges, including: exploitation of the elderly in the amount of $100,000 or greater, exploitation of the elderly in the amount of $20,000 to $100,000, fraudulent use of ID of another without their consent, larceny, 19 counts of fraud by uttering a false statement, 15 counts of forgery and more.
