A COLLEGE football player died suddenly at the age of 18 following a recent game in Mississippi.
The player's death was a result of "medical complications" per the school.
Emanuell Cooks, a college football player for the Mississippi Delta Community College (MDCC), died after playing in a game against Hinds Community College on Thursday, September 18.
MDCC revealed Cooks' passing came the following day.
The school made a statement on the death of the freshman player.
"Our entire Trojan family is devastated by this loss,' MDCC President Dr. Steven Jones said.
"At this time, our deepest thoughts and prayers are with Emanuell's family, teammates, coaches, and friends.
"We will come together as a community to support one another through this tragedy."
