Henry Ward Beecher once said that when added up “more heroism has been displayed in the household and the closet than on the most memorable battlefields.”

Today pseudo-heroes abound whose “heroism” stems mostly from their wealth, gifted bodies, insider influence or sheer notoriety. Fortunately, quiet and productive heroes also walk among us, like photographer Ernesto Rodriguez who founded Nature In The Classroom, a nonprofit that “seeks to transform the education environment by installing ceiling murals of tree canopies in classrooms.”
