A bicyclist was seriously injured Wednesday night in a hit-and-run in West Gardiner.

Russell Farrin, 66, has been charged with aggravated leaving the scene of a personal injury crash and failing to render aid, according to the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office.

Russell was driving a Chevrolet pickup truck on High Street about 9 p.m. when he allegedly hit a bicyclist and kept on going.

The bicyclist was taken to MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta with serious injuries before being transferred to Maine Medical Center in Portland.

Russell turned himself in to police Thursday.

He was taken to the Kennebec County Jail, where his bail was set at $5,000.
