UK households have been urged not to pull too much from their retirement pots ahead of the November Budget. The Labour Party Chancellor Rachel Reeves will deliver the Autumn Statement in November - with worried savers withdrawing £70 billion from retirement pots.

The FCA found overall value of money being withdrawn from pension pots increased to £70.9billion in 2024/25 from £52.2billion in the previous year. But a warning has been issued over the number of households doing so without thorough expertise and guidance.

Just three in 10 of pension plans accessed for the first time were held by savers who took regulated advice - down from 30.9 per cent in 2023/24.
