Remember when legendary R&B band Earth Wind & Fire asked “Do you remember, the 21st night of September?”

For the 2025 New Orleans Saints, the answer is “yes.”

The night of Sept. 21 is when the Saints took the long flight back to New Orleans from Seattle and reflected on one of the most embarrassing losses in franchise history.

“We are at a juncture where we have to be as critical as we can be right now,” said Saints defensive end Cam Jordan .

Nobody expected anyone to have to be this critical of a team with a first-year coach just three games into the season. But here we are.

The scoreboard at Lumen Field read: Seahawks 44, Saints 13.

It felt even worse than that.

The Saints, who for the last two weeks often talked about how “close” they are, showed that they aren’t .
