Each week, The Blade will recap the most interesting Toledo football grades released by Pro Football Focus, the scouting website that evaluates players’ performance on every play of every game. For context, grades are based on a 0-100 scale.
Malachi Davis (81.8): The junior defensive end played 50 of 73 defensive snaps and graded out as Toledo’s top defender. He was a disruptive force, finishing with two official sacks. PFF credited Davis with three sacks and three quarterback hurries.
Braden Awls (85.6 run defense): The Toledo native had the highest run defense grade, a notable accomplishment for a strong safety. Awls was in on 67 of 73 snaps. He had two tackles, including one tackle for loss.
