The Lakers are off to their best start since the 2016 season, the last time the Lakers finished a season with a winning record going 7-4 that year. It's also already their best win total since 2016, they have had a couple of three-win seasons in that stretch and suffered through three winless years as well.

Under first year Laker coach Coby Lewis, this year's Laker team is making up for lost time and loosing seasons with a new brand of exciting football. Fans have already enjoyed two career rushing games from senior Logan Smith who is nearing 1,000 yards on the season in five games, thanks to two 300 plus yard performances so far.
