A Sydney teenager has described the horrifying moments when passengers were “rocketed from their seats” after a bus slammed into a car on the M2 Motorway at 100km/h yesterday.

Nicholas Walsh was one of 11 people taken to hospital after the crash and spoke to 7NEWS after his release on Monday morning, revealing how he became an unlikely hero by calling emergency services.

“A lady towards the middle of the bus yelled ‘bus driver, bus driver’, and it was just a boom, just a really big hit. And everyone was flying everywhere,” Walsh said.

“I got flung forwards, so we were going about 100km an hour into the back of this car. And then I look up and I see this black SUV just come right to the screen and it scared me.”

Walsh said he feared for his life in the moments after impact.
