Like many superstars, Caitlin Clark 's relationship with the WNBA's officiating crews is a complicated one.

The Indiana Fever guard picked up six technical fouls, one away from suspension, during her rookie season in 2024, and several of them were due to arguing with the referees.

The former Iowa women's basketball star may have stirred the pot a little with the referees when she poked fun at them in an Instagram comment section following the Fever's Game 2 win over the Atlanta Dream Sept. 16, writing: "Elite bench mob," referencing Indiana's supportive and congratulatory bench of players and coaches and "Refs couldn't stop us."
