Today marks PennDOT’s deadline for about 30 remaining homeless people to move out of Tent City off South Front Street, following months of planning.

According to printed notices distributed at the site, PennDOT is wresting control of the Tent City site as a staging area for the Interstate 83 widening project. The highway bridge snakes right above Tent City, located in a wooded area near the PennDOT Driver Services Center.
