A 31-year-old woman was killed when she was struck by a vehicle in University City on Sunday evening, police said Monday.

The collision took place around 9:15 p.m. Sunday, when a 31-year-old driver of an eastbound Volkswagen Jetta struck the pedestrian as she was walking southbound from the center median of 4300 La Jolla Village Drive. • La Jolla Village Drive

Police said the woman went into the driver’s path and was struck by the vehicle. She was taken to a hospital, where she was later pronounced dead, the San Diego Police Department said.
